Billy is trying to stay awake so the SCARY creatures of the dark won't come. But then he hears a squeaky little voice and notices some tiny purple footprints. Not only that, SOMETHING has ATTACKED his cheese sandwich. What could it be? An exciting addition to the Usborne Young Reading Programme, specially written for readers growing in confidence.

I liked that it was a mystery about who was doing those things. Billy thought they were really scary but they were not really.

I loved the experience whilst reading this book because it shows that monsters arent always made to frighten people and that they are hugevand want to harm. This book can change children's minds about what they think of these scary creatures they believe in and I did read this book before monsters at the seaside which made it more sense.Thank you to the libraries giving books out.

When I started reading this book I thought it will be about some scary monsters! This book is about brave boy called Billy who saved the monsters which were in the washing machine. The book is fiction. I liked Trumpet and I will recommend it to my friends.

The story was a bit short, maybe a bit too easy to read. But I loved the illustrations.
