Space Hop launch in Cornwall
Cornwall's Space Hop Big Launch included :
- Visit from Callington Space Centre team including a talk from resident Astronomer, Clive Purchase
- Hands on demonstration of the Solar Telescope
- Early Registration for the Summer Reading Challenge
- An opportunity to make and launch a Pop-Rocket space craft
- Video introduction to the summer reading challenge by NASA Space Engineer, Amber Gell from Houston, Texas who recently visited the library in Callington and recorded a special message for children embarking on the summer reading challenge.
NB: Cornwall's launch took place at a unique public library, located in a
secondary school....which also has on the same site a space centre! See www.callington.cc
Also in Cornwall, Falmouth Library had a Space Hop Brownie sleepover in the library, so the brownies were the first to sign up on Saturday morning - apparently not much sleep was had!
